Qi Gong and Tai Chi

Qi Gong and Tai Chi are very similar.  They are also very different.  Words can help explain this, but only by experiencing them is someone really able to understand them. Public classes cost $10 and are held at the Raumati South Memorial Hall on Wednesdays, from 4pm until 5pm.

 

Qi Gong

Generally, Qi Gong is:           - Pronounced "Chee-Goong."

                                           - Literally translated as Energy Work.

                                           - A treatment modality in its own right.

                                           - Often used supplementary to other TCM modalities,

                                             magnifying the results.

 

Specifically, Qi Gong is:         - A collection of soft, gentle exercises that emphasize certain

                                             ways of standing, breathing and moving that serve

                                             to enhance and stimulate the energy of your body.

                                           - Easy to learn and gentle to perform.  Everybody can

                                             benefit from doing them, no matter their present

                                             state of health.   

                                           - An opportunity to be more aware of yourself.

 

How Qi Gong works:              - Certain postures and movements stimulate and enhance

                                              the movement of energy along specific energetic

                                              channels to invigorate their associated organs,

The Difference between Qi Gong and Tai Chi:
