Facilitator: - Todd W. Stewart
When: - Thursday evenings from 730 until 9pm (ish).
- (Please call first? It only happens if there are enough people into it.)
Where: - Upstairs at Harmonious Health, 344a Rosetta Rd, Raumati Beach.
What: - We (the participants), as a collective, share in a (roughly 90 minute) weekly,
evening meditation circle, or gathering.
- It is not a class, although those who participate will invariably learn from each
other as we share our own particular styles or foci of meditation and its friends,
and the experiences we have while playing/investigating/nothinging with these
resources, together.
- The intention is that these gatherings be light and enjoyable, that there be a
very loose, dynamic schedule to them. Nothing serious, nothing forced.
- People could come once a week or once a month or whever they feel like it or
can find the time in their busy schedule, or not at all - it's all good.
- Over the 90 minute duration, we have two meditations:
- The first is of a variable flavour/style/genre, different from week to
week depending upon who is present and who would like to share a
meditative technique or practice, ranging from (but not limited to) ritual,
guided, visualization, contemplation, mantra, mudra, qigong, reiki,
essence tasing, laughter, etc.
- The second to be of a "pure/clean," "no-mind," or "directionless"
meditation, where we sit in stillness and quiet and simply observe the
undulation of the infinite present moment...
How: - Arrival, how-do-you-do's.
- 1st meditation (up to 30 minutes).
- Cup of tea (see below), discussion of meditation.
- 2nd meditation (up to 30 minutes).
- Cup of tea, discussion of meditation.
- Who'd like to lead the first meditation next week?
- See-ya-laters, have-a-good-week's.
- NB: Cups of tea are not essential (although we could do a tea-ceremony one
time, perhaps), and it doesn't matter how much experience anyone has in any
of these meditative genres. People can share their experiences of the night, and
their own meditation techniques (as mentioned above), although, of course,
noone has to if they don't want to. Someone could come and be silent the
whole night, every week, it's all good.
Why: - To practice meditation more.
- To sit with fellow sitters and have a nice time.
- To discover some new, fun "techniques."
- To enjoy the combined vibe of people moving in similar direction.
Price: - $0! Yup, free.
