Herbal Medicine.

Herbal Medicine is:               - The primary treatment method within TCM.

                                          - A sophisticated, systematic method of classification

and prescription of thousands of substances.

                                          - The origin of the active, often synthetic ingredients found

                                            within common pharmaceutical drugs.

Herbal Medicine works:         - By treating both the symptoms presented as well as the

underlying disease mechanism.  For example, they

treat an infection, as well as the reason why someone

                                            is succeptible to becoming infected.

                                          - Prescriptively.  Certain herbs are blended together in

herbal formulas, depending on the symptoms and

their root cause.  This means the patient receives a

custom herbal prescription which treats both their

major complaint, and their underlying pattern of

                                            disharmony.
