About Needles...

The needles used in Acupuncture are:

         - Very thin, usually around 0.2mm wide.  That’s small enough for

about 8 of them to fit inside the needles that are used to

            draw blood or give injections.

         - Very sharp, which means they insert easier - no pain.

         - Sterilized, single-use needles, disposed of immediately after withdrawal.

         - Few.  Most people generally receive between 2 and 8 per treatment.

About Sensation...

The sensations people experience when receiving acupuncture are:

         - Sensations, not pain.  Sensation implies positive connotations, and consequently

is more empowering and relaxing than if related to as pain.

         - Generally much gentler and softer than people anticipate.

         - Different for everyone.

         - Wide-ranging.  Often, people describe the sensations as:

                     - Warm.

                     - Heavy.

                     - Distending.

                     - Dull.

                     - Achey.

                     - Travelling.

                     - Pulsating.

                     - Tingley.

         - Sometimes not even perceived.  A bit like a dog-whistle.

About Results...

People generally feel improvement:

         - Immediately.

         - More and more with every treatment they receive.  This is because

acupuncture gathers momentum and is cumulative.

         - At variable rates to each other - it depends on their initial constitution.
